Black Affairs’ mission is to create, sustain, promote and affirm Black scholarship, culture, history, and leadership. They coordinate an array of educational, cultural, and social programs focused on the Black experience at the University of Florida, the United States, and across the African diaspora. Black Affairs functions as a resource for individual Black students, student organizations, the University of Florida, and the surrounding community. Their aim is to collaborate with interested campus and community stakeholders to inform institutional policy and practice. They do this to actively support sustainable efforts involving the recruitment and retention of Black students at UF in higher education and beyond.
