The U Matter, We Care initiative is grounded in creating opportunities for action while also being able to create a variety of support systems for students at the University of Florida. The U Matter, We Care philosophy is simple – create a call to action for all students, faculty, staff, and families to assist our Gators. Our support services can only thrive by calling on the University of Florida community to come together and assist one another. Below are the interwoven actions that U Matter, We Care prides itself on.
Empowerment – Encouraging and expecting a certain degree of action for yourself, peers, and community interests.
Prevention – Educating students about creating healthy habits and developing healthy behaviors.
Advocacy – Developing an inclusive and accessible campus for all students encompassing perceived age, color, creed, ability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, body type or size, or any combination of these or related factors.
Support – Connecting students to appropriate resources, persons, and actions.
